by William Shakespeare,

adapted by Peter Griffith

Othello is at the peak of success – he is the highly-respected commander of the Venetian army, and he has just married a beautiful woman. But which of his friends can he really trust?
This devastating story of love, racism, jealousy and murder shows how a noble leader can be brought to disaster by the lies and tricks of the man he thought was his best friend.
Shakespeare's tragic masterpiece has been abridged to 90 minutes of fire, emotion, and intense drama.

Extract from the script 'Othello'

Othello: By heaven, I'll know thy thoughts.
Iago: O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock
The meat it feeds on; that cuckold lives in bliss
Who, certain of his fate, loves not his wronger;
But, O, what damned minutes tells he o'er
Who dotes, yet doubts, suspects, yet strongly loves!
Othello: Why, why is this? No, Iago;
I'll see before I doubt; when I doubt, prove;
And on the proof, there is no more but this, -
Away at once with love or jealousy!
Iago: I speak not yet of proof.
Look to your wife; observe her well with Cassio...
I speak not yet of proof.
Look to your wife; observe her well with Cassio...
